11th July 1947 – Albert Bourlon’s 253 km long solo breakaway

Alber Bourlon escaped from the peloton right after the start of the 14th stage at the Tour de France in 1947.

He managed to reach the finish line pbefore everyone else. It is the longest successful breakaway in the Tour de France history ever
