Or will Vingegaard arrive back?
Yes, he is back with Gaudu and Pogacar.
Vingegaard attacks with less than 300 m. Pogacar conterattacks. Wasn’t it a bit desperate try from the Danish rider? Because both Pogacar and Gaudu are in better shape.
Tadej Pogacar wins the stage.
2 km to go
Gaudu is restless, he can’t get away from Pogacar, but Vingegaard is dropped.
3,8 km to go
Pogacar, Vingegaard and Gaudu together at the front, and Gaudu attacks. Pogacar can respond better, than Vingegaard, but soon all the three are together again.
6 km to go
Chris Harper launches. his attack.
Also behind him Vingegaard has his first move.
Pogacar followed him, but not for long, the Slovenian rode away from his rival.
9 km to go
The last breakaway rider has been caught.
But on the other hand, it’s still 9 km, It seems ery early to launch an attack from the favourites’ group
10 km to go
Reaching the 10 km mark, we can say, Foss made hell of a job for Vingegaard and Jumbo-Visma. All the main rivals lost their helpers since Fossis setting the pace at the front of the favourites’ group.
13 km to go
Ok, nit so overwhelming, only two teammates for Gaudu. Nevertheless, Foss is setting the pace, and he causes real damages. Molard the only teammate for Gaudu left, while Pogacar is on his own.
Main bunch is less then one minute behind the riders at the front.
15 km to go
As the brekaways riders already started to climb the last ascent, in the peloton Vingegaard has only one helper, Tobias Foss. Groupama- FDJ riders are gatering at the front of the main bunch. No wonder, they have an overwhelming presence in this group. Also Pogacar has only one teammate with him.
20 km to go
While there are still five riders out in the breakaway, everyone is focusing on the head of the peloton: Gaudu has 5, Pogacar 3 , Vingegaard 2 teammates before the final climb of the day.
42 km to go
18-man large breakaway group (it was originally 19) at the front of the race, the gap is arond 2 and half minutes.
