Popular topics – Week 11 (2025)

It never ceases amaze me how seasonal people’s interest can be. The program of Tour de France 2025 is avaible since the official route presentation in October 2024, but that’s just not the time when the vaste majority of the admirers of the race care about it.

But as soon as the live TV/streaming coverages of the early races start, suddenly, everyone start searching for infos about this year Tour de France.

It also shows, how Tour de France enjoys a significantly larger popularity than any other road cycling events.

Therefore it’s no wonder that during the week we’re just leaving behind the program of the upcoming Tour de France was the most popular in the virtual world of PelotonTales blogfamily.

It looks like more people are searching for the stages in Pyrenees than in the Alps.

I’m not surprised. To be honest, the endgame of Tour de Frsnce 2025, the last few mountain stages in the Alps don’t seem exciting at the first glimpse. But as I wrote in my latest article on Patreon, luckily, we have this New Golden Generation, being able to make even the most simple stages exciting.

However, visitors in significant number were searching for the program of the 18th stage between Vif and Courchevel (but maybe only because the ski season in the French Alps hasn’t ended yet, and as we know, Courchevel is a very popular destination.) By the way, the program of the 18th stage will include Col du Glandon, Col de la Madelene, Col de la Loze.

Unlike Tour de France, it seem, the time of searching for Giro d’Italia hasn’t come yet. Although the race will start in less than two months (on the 9th May 2025) Anyway, here is an overview of all the 21 stages

Paris-Roubaix receivesaalways the most attention from all of the monuments, as hapened this week too. Also, because the rsce will be held next week, there is a rising interest among road cycling fans also in Milano-Sanremo too.

Looking back to the history of road cycling, people still obsessed with the image (and the article about it) of the “smoking cyclists” from Tour de France 1927.  Although there are some new post, related ro the spring clasics, out there, like the story of the controversal finish of Paris -Roubaix 1936, or Roger De Vlaeminck’s Ronde van Vlaanderen victory from 1977.
