The third week of Tour de France is starting with a stage including a 3rd a 4th and two 1st category climbs. Restarting the race after the last rest day is always unoredictable, and it’s even more unpredictable this year.

Two Ag2R Citroën riders Aurélien Paret-Peintre and Mikaël Chérel had to leave the race due positive COVID-test.

150 km to go

Although it’s a bit uncertain, how the breakaway group of the day will look like, one thing is certain: the peloton gave the blessing to the breakawa, very early the gap between them and the smaller groups ahead of them is  already around 5 minutes

110 km to go

There is a 29-man group at the front of the race

Mathieu Burgaudeau (TotalEnergies), Matteo Jorgenson (Movistar), Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates), Wout van Aert and Nathan Van Hooydonck (Jumbo-Visma), Daniel Martinez (Ineos Grenadiers), Alexander Vlasov, Felix Grossschartner (Bora-Hansgrohe), Mikkel Honoré (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl), Gorka Izagirre and Matteo Jorgenson (Movistar), Simon Geschke (Cofidis), Damiano Caruso and Dylan Teuns (Bahrain Victorious), Olivier Le Gac, Valentin Madouas and Michael Storer (Groupama-FDJ), Nils Eekhoff (Team DSM), Simone Velasco (Astana Qazaqstan), Stefan Bissegger and Neilson Powless (EF Education-EasyPost), Maxime Bouet and Lukasz Owsian (Arkéa-Samsic), Philippe Gilbert and Tim Wellens (Lotto-Soudal), Tony Gallopin (Trek-Segafredo), Hugo Houle and Michael Woods (Israel-Premier Tech), Cyril Barthe (B&B Hotels-KTM).

Peloton is 6 and a half minutes behind.

90 km to go

Peloton reached the feed zone some minutes ago. Ineos Grenadiers was at the front of the main bunch then, now Jumbo-Visma again.

Gap between them and the 29-man breakaway group more than 7 minutes

Unfortunately Marc Doler (UAE Team Emirates) has some kind of stomach problem, spent some time at the medical car. No he is riding one and a halfm inutes behind the peloton.

80 km to go

Within a few km the next climb comes:

Soler is still struggling behind the peloton.

65 km to go

The race among the breakaway riders kicked off. Damiano Caruso and Olivier Le Gac at the fron currently.

Peloton is more than 8 minute behind.

Marc Soler is still in race, around 10 minutes behind the peloton

55 km to go

3 Movistar riders attacked from the peloton. Being Mas no real danger to the top of the general classification, they are allowed to make their move.

Meanwhile,at the front there is a smaller group including the polka dot and the green jersey.

50 km to go

2 km before peloton crossed Port de Lers, Pogacar attacked several times, but Vingegaard reacted always well.

30 km to go

After Movistar rode at the head of the peloton for a while, Majka came to the front to set the pace.  He is now causing some damages.

28 km to go

Majka, Pogacar, Vingegaard, Kuss and Quintana in the yellow group.

Thomas and Yates a bit behind them.

27 km to go

Majka has technical problem suddenly.

While Huho Houle takes the climb

But back to the yellow group: Kuss is setting the pace, only Vingegaard and Pogacar is with him. Oh, also Quintana is here. So they are four.
