The 31st Tour de France (held between 30th June and 25th July 1937) was the first race for the new director Jacques Goddet. Since the beginning in 1903, Henri Desgrange, the “founding father of Tour de France” was the race director, now he has retired. He still visited the race frequently untill his death in 1940. Two-time Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard will participate in Vuelta a Espana 2023 (between 26 August and 17 September 2023). His team, Jumbo -Visma is targeting a “grand tour triple”, after teo of the three cycling grand tours were won by one of their riders. (Earlier this year, Primoz Roglic won Giro d’Italia.) The race starts with a team time trial on 26th August in Barcelona. The route will include, among other ascents, Tourmalet (Stage 13) and Angliru (Stage 17).
